Sunrise Hike on Cnoc na dTobar
Embrace a winter morning like no other..
Service Description
Embrace a winter morning like no other on December 15th as we hike up Cnoc na dTobar in Cahersiveen, nestled in the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve. We’ll gather in the car park at 6:00 AM to begin our journey to the summit in the serene early hours, with the unique possibility of glimpsing the Geminid meteor shower along the way. As we make our way up this ancient pilgrimage path, we’ll be surrounded by some of Ireland’s darkest skies. If conditions allow, the darkness could reveal the peak of the Geminids, one of the year’s most awe-inspiring meteor showers. Though the weather is never guaranteed, clear skies may offer a rare chance to spot meteors streaking across the sky as we ascend. Reaching the summit by dawn, we’ll witness the first light unfolding across the breathtaking landscape of South Kerry, with panoramic views that extend from the Atlantic coast to the surrounding mountains. Price: €35 per person Duration: Approx. 4-5 hours (round trip) Important: Please remember that stargazing opportunities depend on weather and visibility, so meteor sightings are not guaranteed. Spaces are limited—book early to secure your spot for this special sunrise experience in one of Ireland’s most spectacular Dark Sky Reserves!
